DermDoc Water Based Serum With Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid Review

Hi Everyone!! Today, I am sharing DermDoc Water Based Serum With Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid Review.

Serums have become a key element in skin care routine. However, there is a confusion amongst a lot of people as to which type of serum will work best for their skin. Broadly, serums are of two types – Oil Based and Water Based. Oil-based generally suit people with dry skin types and water-based serums work well for oily and combination skin types. In order to know all about serums, please go through the post Benefits Of Oil And Water Based Serums. I have combination skin so, keeping that in mind, I purchased DermDoc Water Based Serum With Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid and here is its derailed review.

My Experience With DermDoc Water Based Serum With Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid

Appearance Of DermDoc Water Based Serum With Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid
Appearance

The serum appears slightly golden in colour and has a water-like consistency. It has a citrusy fragrance that I didn’t find much appealing however, it doesn’t stay for long so that is a relief for me.

I apply this serum on my cleansed and toned face at night. Being water-based, you don’t really need to give it much massage and it gets absorbed into the skin quickly. However, I prefer to pat the serum into the skin as it doesn’t allow smooth massage. After patting, it feels a little sticky and that stickiness stays for around 8-10 minutes. After that, it just feels so light on the skin and you won’t even feel that you have applied something on your face. There remains no stickiness and no greasy feeling. This makes it so perfect for combination and oily skin types.

DermDoc Water Based Serum With Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid claims to be non-greasy and ultra-hydrating and it fulfills these claims. It contains hyaluronic acid and is really effective in keeping the skin hydrated. It makes the skin quite soft and supple. In case you want to know other amazing benefits of hyaluronic acid for skin then you can check my post on that. The serum also claims to treat hyperpigmentation and prevent signs of aging however, I cannot comment on that as fortunately, I don’t have any pigmentation marks. Moreover, to check whether it prevents signs of aging or not requires long term usage.

When To Apply DermDoc Water Based Serum With Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid?

Though it is mentioned to use DermDoc Water Based Serum With Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid twice a day but there is a confusion in the skincare world over whether vitamin C serum should be used in the morning, in the evening, or both? So, I tried to find the answer to my question on the net and found that one can use it during day time but make sure to follow up with a layer of some broad-spectrum sunscreen having SPF of 30 or more.

In case you have sensitive skin, then the higher concentration of vitamin C can make your skin more prone to sunburn and irritation. So, it is recommended to use the serum as a PM-only product.

Still, I would recommend using this serum before bed at night. The reason is that while you are sleep, your body undergoes its natural repair process. The serum being water based gets absorbed into the clean skin quickly and will work effectively. Moreover, using a serum containing vitamin C at night will avoid the risk of photosensitivity, which can occur in some cases during day time. So, I prefer to use this serum at night.

Conclusion

Honestly, I am not really convinced to use DermDoc Water Based Serum With Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid as the complete list of ingredients is not mentioned and we have no idea what other ingredients are put in and in what concentration are they added. In case you have sensitive skin make sure to go for a patch test before the application on your face.
