Packaging

Kay Beauty Matte Drama Lipstick comes in a beautiful rose-gold casing. There is a homogeneous pattern on the cap that makes it look really attractive and it comes with a magnetic closure. The base of the casing is colour-coded so it is quite easy to pick up the desired shade. The lipstick comes encased in a colour-coded cardboard box that bears some product-related details on it. You can find the shade name at the base of the lipstick and on the outer cardboard box as well. Overall, the packaging looks really classy and luxe.

My Experience With Kay Beauty Matte Drama Lipstick

As shared above, I have 8 shades with me so, you can see the swatches in the image given below.

The first thing that I really liked the moment I twisted up the bullet is its shape. The cupid’s bow shape of the bullet helps in shaping the lips easily. The lipstick glides easily and effortlessly on the lips. It is intensely pigmented and offers rich colour pay-off. It settles into a completely matte finish (without any shine) and doesn’t accentuate the fine lines of the lips. Another good point about this lipstick is that it doesn’t dry out the lips and I believe that is due to the fact it contains grapeseed oil that helps in keeping the lips moisturized. The lipstick also claims to be weightless and that is absolutely true. It doesn’t feel heavy on the lips at all and is quite comfortable to wear.

Now, let’s talk about the staying power of this lipstick. It transfers minimal and with light snacks and beverages, it stays on my lips for a good 5-6 hours. However, with a complete meal, it fades from the inner corners of the lips and needs touch-up. Overall, I really liked Kay Beauty Matte Drama Lipstick as it fulfills what it claims however, I do feel that it is a little expensive.
