NY Bae X Shakti is a beauty line which is launched by a famous Dancer-choreographer and TV personality – Shakti Mohan. The range consists of bullet lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, nail lacquers and eyeliners. I have already shared my review on NY Bae X Shakti Creamy Matte Lipstick, NY Bae X Shakti Liquid Lipstick and NY Bae X Shakti Liquid Eyeliner so, make sure to check these posts as well. In this post, I will be talking about NY Bae X Shakti Nail Lacquer. The range comprises of 4 variants – Matte, Metallic Effect, Chameleon Effect and Glitter Top Coat. I have purchased two variants – Metallic Effect in the shade Madison Square Street Dance 4 and Chameleon Effect in the shade Park Avenue Free Style 8 so, let’s see the detailed review.

Packaging

The nail lacquer comes in a glass bottle with a shiny, rose gold cap. The cap bears some patters on it that make it look attractive. The shade number and name is printed on the top of the cap. Overall, the packaging is simple yet attractive!!

My Experience With NY Bae X Shakti Nail Lacquer

As shared above, I have the nail paint in two variants – Metallic Effect in the shade Madison Square Street Dance 4 which is a n*de shade and is perfect for daily wear and office wear. The other Chameleon Effect in the shade Park Avenue Free Style 8 which is a bright aqua blue shade and is apt for winters.

The brush provided for the application is flat and wide so, it fans out well on the nails. The nail lacquer has a proper consistency so, it distributes easily on the nails. It gets applied smoothly without any unevenness or bubbles in it. The nail lacquers claim to have high colour pay off however it is not the case. They are not that pigmented so, you need to give 2-3 strokes to get the required effect on the nails.

The first coat of the nail lacquer takes around 1 minute 30 seconds to get dry on my nails. However, the double coat takes around 8-10 minutes to get dry. If you are interested to know how to dry the nail polish faster then, make sure to go through the post – How To Dry Nail Polish Faster

The metallic nail lacquer claims to offer a metallic finish that makes nails look so shiny and healthy. However, I am not really satisfied with the results. The chameleon effect on nails means that the color will change depending on the angle and intensity of the light however, the nail lacquer has not given any such effect to my nails. I find it a normal, shiny, a little glittery nail enamel.

Let’s talk about the staying power of these nail paints. These stay on my nails for 2 days without chipping and with all the housework that I do. These are easy to remove with a standard nail polish remover.

Overall, the nail lacquers don’t fulfill what they claim and I am not really satisfied with the results.
