Purplle has recently launched a new range of lipsticks called Ultra HD Velvet Matte Lipstick. The range includes 10 shades and I have this lipstick in the shade Concert Night Companion 8. I have also shared my review on Purplle Ultra HD Matte Lipsticks that were launched last year so, you can check that post as well. Honestly, I was not impressed with those lipsticks so, now let’s see how this lipstick performed. Is there any difference between the two or not?

Purplle Ultra HD Velvet Matte Lipstick comes in a sleek, glossy, black coloured plastic casing. The branding, shade name & number are mentioned on the tube itself in golden fonts. The lipstick comes encased in a classic Purplle cardboard box that bears some product-related details on it.

My Experience With Purplle Ultra HD Velvet Matte Lipstick

As shared above, I have this lipstick in the shade Concert Night Companion 8 which is a pinkish maroon shade. The shade will suit everyone irrespective of the skin tones.

The lipstick has a soft texture and it glides easily on the lips. The slanting shape of the bullet allows an easy application. The lipstick doesn’t have any fragrance so that is a good relief for sensitive noses. It has a medium to buildable pigmentation and it requires 2-3 swipes to get an opaque colour on the lips. It doesn’t emphasize the fine lines of the lips.

Purplle Ultra HD Velvet Matte Lipstick claims to offer a velvety matte finish however, according to me, it offers a complete powdery matte finish. The good part is that it is quite lightweight but feels a little drying on the lips so, I would recommend to prep your lips before the application.

Staying Power Of Purplle Ultra HD Velvet Matte Lipstick

The lipstick is transfer-resistant and water-resistant as well. It transfers a little bit onto glasses and mugs. On my lips, it stays for 4-5 hours with light snacks and beverages. However, on having a complete meal, it fades from the inner corners of my lips so, needs reapplication.

Overall, Purplle Ultra HD Velvet Matte Lipstick is a better option in comparison to the previously launched Purplle Ultra HD Matte Lipstick. It glides easily, lightweight, transfer-resistant, water-resistant and offers a decent stay time. So, if you are looking for such kind of formula then, you can give it a try.

Not So Good About Purplle Ultra HD Velvet Matte Lipstick

• Pigmentation could have been better
• Offers a powdery matte finish rather than velvety matte
• Feels a little drying on the lips
• Less shade availability
