Lakme Absolute 3D Matte Lipstick Review

Hi Everyone!! Today, I am sharing Lakme Absolute 3D Matte Lipstick Review.

In one of my previous posts, I shared with you that Lakme has introduced the new Lakme Absolute 3D Range. This range includes 3D Matte lipstick, 3D Cover Foundation and an eye palette. The name 3D lipstick attracted me and I so wanted to try it just to see the difference between a normal matte bullet lipstick and 3D one. Hence, I purchased it in the shade 03 Maroon Magic and here is its detailed review.

Packaging

Lakme Absolute 3D Matte Lipstick comes in a greyish black, translucent plastic casing. On the cap, the branding is done in white fonts and at the base of the lipstick is mentioned the shade number, name and expiry date. While retracting the bullet, you will get to hear a click sound which gives an indication that the bullet is completely in and you need not retract it further. The lipstick itself comes encased in a black coloured cardboard box that bears some product-related on it but the ingredient list is not mentioned. Overall, the packaging is simple, sturdy and lightweight but you need to open the cap or check the shade name given at the base of the lipstick to identify the shade as the shade is not visible through the greyish black translucent cap.

My Experience With Lakme Absolute 3D Matte Lipstick

As shared above, I have the lipstick in the shade 03 Maroon Magic which is a beautiful brownish maroon shade that will suit everyone irrespective of skin tones. The shade given on the Lakme website is quite misleading and looks completely different in reality. Please refer to the image provided to get a better idea.

The lipstick has a soft texture and it glides easily and smoothly on the lips. It is richly pigmented and in one swipe you will get a good colour pay-off. I am really happy with the pigmentation part and all you need to give is two swipes to get even coverage, I also liked the slanted shape of the bullet and find it really easy to reach the corners of the lips and can also line my lips from the backside of the bullet.

What is 3D?

Now, comes the 3D part. Honestly, I am not aware of what is meant by a 3D lipstick however, all I observed is that the lipstick offers a very comfortable velvety matte finish. It also has a little shimmery shine to it and feels as if I have applied some sort of highlighter on it. I absolutely loved the finish and it really adds a new dimension to the lips. The best part about Lakme Absolute 3D Matte Lipstick is that it doesn’t dry out the lips at all and is very comfortable to wear. You don’t really need to prep your lips before the application. So, if you have dry lips and are looking for a comfortable matte formula then, you should definitely give it a try.

Staying Power

The lipstick is not smudge-proof and it transfers a lot. With light snacks and beverages, it stays for around 3-4 hours on my lips. However, after having a complete meal, it fades from the centre of the lips and needs reapplication.

Overall, I really liked Lakme Absolute 3D Matte Lipstick as it glides easily on the lips, is richly pigmented, offers a nice velvety matte finish with a little shine, doesn’t dry out the lips and is quite comfortable to wear.

Not So Good About Lakme Absolute 3D Matte Lipstick

• Not smudge-proof and transfers as well.
• Doesn’t fulfil its claim of lasting for long.
• A little expensive.
